There is more to Argentina than beef and tango. It is the worlds eighth-largest country, just smaller than India and is nearly three million square kilometers. That is a lot of land showing diversity in ecosystems, climate, and culture. Argentina is home to one of the longest rivers on earth, the Parana, which starts in Brazil, flows into the famous Rio del La Plata, and empties into the Atlantic Ocean near Buenos Aires. There are dramatic differences in climate from the hot Andean Northwest to the cold Patagonia South. Much of the climate in central Argentina consists of mild winters and humid summers. Argentina boasts, Cerro Aconcagua, The Roof of the Americas, Cueva de las Manos (Cave of Hands), Neuquen’s Dinosaur Triangle, and Iguazu Falls among its ten UNESCO World Biosphere Reserves. Culturally, Argentina is home to seven UNESCO World Heritage Sites with one of the worlds best preserved Jesuit missions in Cordoba. There are so many sights and places to visit but the vast distance in between places makes logistics and travel planning a must before arriving.
